USES
This medication is
used to treat male sexual function problems (erection problems).
HOW TO USE THIS
MEDICATION
Take Cialis exactly as prescribed by your doctor. The
normal recommended startup dose for Cialis is one 20 mg tablet before sexual
activity. For best results take Cialis 30 minutes to 12 hours before sexual
activity. DO NOT take Cialis more than once a day. Too much Cialis in your
system can result in dangerous side effects. For safety purposes, avoid taking
Cialis on a daily basis. Also, be aware that taking Cialis with grapefruit juice
may increase your chance of experiencing side effects.
SIDE EFFECTS
Like all
medications, Cialis may produce side effects. These side effects are generally
mild to moderate in nature. They include: Headache,
dyspepsia, dizziness, flushing, nasal congestion , back pain or muscle pain.
If these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor promptly.
PRECAUTIONS
In clinical
studies, dizziness has been reported in some patients taking Cialis. Use caution
when driving or operating heavy machinery. Cialis contains some lactose and
should not be taken by patients with hereditary problems of galactose
intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption. Also,
be aware that taking Cialis with grapefruit juice may increase your chances of
experiencing undesirable side effects. DO NOT take Cialis if you: Are taking
medications with nitrates or nitric oxide. Are allergic to tadalafil the active
ingredient in Cialis. Have uncontrolled high or low blood pressure. Have
recently suffered a stroke or heart attack.
DRUG INTERACTIONS
Before
you use any medication, you should tell your doctor about all the prescription
and/or over-the-counter medicines you are taking. DO NOT use Cialis to treat
impotence if you are currently taking nitrates. Nitrates are used to treat chest
pains in heart patients. Taking Cialis and nitrates together can result in
harmful, even fatal drops in blood pressure levels.
NOTES
Do not share this
medication with others, since they may have a problem that is not effectively
treated by this drug. Use of Cialis does not protect against sexually
transmitted diseases (e.g., HIV, Hepatitis B, gonorrhea).
MISSED DOSE
Not
applicable.
STORAGE
Store at room
temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C) away from light and
moisture. Keep this and all medications out of the reach of children.
